Olympic High School baseball team one win from berth to Class 3A state tournament

The Olympic High School baseball team moved within one win of the Class 3A state tournament with a 5-3 victory Tuesday over Auburn Mountainview High School at Kent Memorial Park.

Senior Riley Crow pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and two earned runs, and fellow senior Chris Campbell recorded his fourth save of the season after hitting a go-ahead RBI single in the seventh inning.

Daniel Hall had two RBI and Chris Groat added another for the Trojans (15-6).

“We didn’t look great offensively or defensively, but we got some timely hitting,” coach Nate Andrews said.

Olympic faces Mount Rainier High School in a loser-out, winner-to-state game at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kent Memorial.
