Despite scoring 17 goals, notching 40 points and finishing the season responsible for almost half his team’s offensive output, Bremerton’s Francisco Garcia was one of two runners-up for the Olympic League boys soccer MVP award.

Garcia and Olympic’s Cody Clark each received two votes for the league’s top honor, while Kingston’s John Troka won the award with four votes.

Clark, who won the award last season, scored 11 goals and dished out three assists for 25 total points. He was still honored with an All-Olympic League First Team selection, as was Garcia.

Joining Clark on the first team were Olympic teammates Derek Conway-Newton, one of the league’s top midfielders, and sophomore goal keeper Thomas Bryan.

Klahowya’s Darryn Reinertson also earned first-team honors after leading the Eagles in scoring once again with five goals and one assist.

The lone Trojan on the second team was midfielder Arturo Urquieta. Two Eagles made second-team honors however; midfielder Tucker Moran and defender John McLaughlin.

Forward Paul Brumm and defenders Jeff LaGranduer and Scott Breeding earned Oly’s honorable mention nods, while Klahowya keeper Justin Shaputis also was an honorable mention.
