TACOMA — The Buccaneers wrapped up the final two days of the 2-A district basket ball tournament playing Kingston High School ball at its best.
On Friday the Bucs stomped the Sequim Wolves 55-38 and repeated its winning ways with a narrow 41-38 victory over Foster on Saturday.
TACOMA — Championship teams come ready to play all four quarters every night, especially during postseason action.
But, in their first district battle, the Kingston High School Buccaneers weren’t prepared when the whistle blew, dropping the game to Foster 48-44 Wednesday night in Tacoma.

POULSBO — After last Tuesday’s Vikings versus Gig Harbor Tides loser-out basketball game, head coach Tony Chisholm was all smiles.
A smile that might indicate a much-needed tally in the W column. However, the Vikes season ended and the Tides advanced in their bid for a berth in the state tournament with a 67-58 victory.
POULSBO — Defense secured the Poulsbo Middle Panthers basketball team’s season opener win against Klahowya Eagles Tuesday, 55-30.
“I thought we played real well once we switched to man-to-man defense,” said head coach Glen Godfrey. “That changed the game.”

POULSBO — Tony Chisholm was scratching his head at the end of the North Kitsap vs. Central Kitsap rivalry game Wednesday night. He glanced at the scoreboard, which glared back at him with a score he didn’t like: CK, 75; NK 56.
“What happened?” he asked his team.

PUYALLUP — Sometimes, second place is just fine for Kris Goodfellow, head coach of the combined North Kitsap and Kingston high schools’ varsity gymnastics team. Especially when only one point separated her gymnasts from Rogers High School of Puyallup — the same Rogers that placed fourth in last year’s state meet.
POULSBO — The North Kitsap High School Vikings just couldn’t get their shots to sink in their 61-47 home loss to Foss on Jan. 9.
“They were a really good basketball team. I wasn’t surprised at all,” Head Coach Tony Chisholm said of Foss. “We didn’t turn the ball over so that didn’t cause the loss. The loss came down to missed shots. We played well enough on defensive end to win. It’s unfortunate that to win the ball has to go through the rim.”
But team’s pitching staff will be new.
Comes after strong showing at Tacoma tourney.
