The King’s West boys soccer team is on the outside of the 2B SeaTac League playoff picture after splitting games against Mount Rainier Lutheran (MRL)and Tacoma Baptist.

An easy 5-0 win against MRL last Thursday, in which five Warriors scored, helped KW move closer to the third and final playoff spot. But a 2-0 loss against Tacoma Baptist this past Tuesday put the Warriors (7-4-0 overall, 4-4 league) back in fourth place with four games to play.

Andy Lee continues to lead the team in points with 25, on 10 goals and 5 assists, while Josh Kreifels has 17 points.

The team visited Evergreen Lutheran in a must-win yesterday, but results from that game were unavailable at press time. The Warriors host Puget Sound Adventist Oct. 23 (7-3-0, 6-3-0), who they trail by one game in the loss column.

A tough three-game stretch dropped the KW volleyball team to 7-4 overall and 6-4 in league play. First-place The Bear Creak School (10-1, 8-1) edged KW 3-2 (25-11, 15-25, 25-18, 19-25, 15-11) Oct. 9, a day before Evergreen Lutheran swept the Warriors 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-20). But KW bounced back Tuesday against Christian Faith to win 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-16, 25-17). Currently second in the South Division of the SeaTac League, KW finishes the season with back-to-back home games against Tacoma Baptist on Tuesday and Chief Leschi on Thursday. The team traveled to Quilcene this past Thursday, but results from that match were unavailable at press time.
