The Kitsap Pumas announced July 6 that midfielder Mark Tubaek will join the squad as soon as July 15 with a two-year contract.
The 22-year-old from Fyn, an island in Denmark, has gained notoriety for his “technical skills and devastating left foot.” This combination helped in his selection as Denmark’s best indoor soccer player in 2010, according to a news release.
Tubaek’s contract includes playing in the prospective 2011 indoor soccer season for the club.
Tubaek tried out for Kitsap and briefly played with the team in March.
While negotiations of Tubaek’s contract took five months to finalize, Executive Director Ben Pecora said the club has had its eyes on him from the start.
July 15 marks the first day of the international transfer window. Tubaek’s official start date will depend on how quickly the Pumas can obtain a visa and proper work permit.
