POULSBO — Kingston’s Tyler Shuey and Beau Rabedeaux won the Olympic League Tournament’s doubles championship Oct. 24.
The team defeated Klahowya’s Jake Zieser and Tanner Zuber 6-2, 6-4 in the semifinals to advance to the finals.
In the finals, the Kingston duo defeated Sequim’s Brandon Payne and Matt Richards 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 6-4.
The team is preparing for the district tournament Nov. 1, 2, and 4 at the Kitsap Tennis & Athletic Center.
Bucs finish 2nd at League meet
SEQUIM — The Kingston Buccaneers team finished second during the Olympic League cross country meet Oct. 24 at 7 Cedars.
The Bucs ended with a score of 84, tying with the Port Angeles Roughriders.
The Bucs and North Kitsap Vikings head to American Lake for the district championships, Nov. 2. The district championships begin at 11:35 a.m. Runners will compete for state qualifying times.
Kingston’s John Griffin was the first Buc to cross the finish line during the league meet. He finished in 16 minutes 40.71 seconds.
Port Townsend’s Ryan Clarke took first place in 16:11.56.
The Vikings team had a score of 95 during the league meet, finishing fourth.
North Kitsap’s Dotton Polk was the fastest Viking, taking 13th with a time of 17:01.60.
