Girls Basketball: Two more wins means South Kitsap will head into the holiday break with a perfect record.
Junior Dana Goularte scored 14 points to lead the Wolves to a 44-37 nonleague victory Saturday against Lakeside.
South (7-0 overall, 5-0 league) also earned a 65-51 win Friday against Lincoln in Narrows League play. Senior Molly Werder had a team-best 14 points in that game, while Goularte (13) and classmate Angela Romonsky (12) both scored in double figures.
The Wolves, who play Wednesday against Roosevelt, are off to their best start in more than a decade. Their last two state-playoff teams — 2000 and 2009 — were 5-2 and 6-1 at this point, respectively.
