Key newcomers: Halie Rodriguez, point guard, junior.
Outlook: The team has lost a few players that have moved out of the district, so they are reloading with several junior varsity players from last year.
Among those is Rodriguez, who will play point guard for the Wolves and is expected to make an impact.
The team should be able to score with its stable of weapons and has resolved to play relentless defense.

South Kitsap boys swim and dive

Key newcomers: Lorenzo Cogoni (Italian exchange student); Connor Twiss, sophomore.
Outlook: With a roster boasting 50 swimmers/divers, South Kitsap should have no trouble filling out their events to grab as many points as possible.
The goal is for each athlete to perform better than they did at the previous meet to help the team acheive success. The Wolves should swim well in both the individual and team events, and are hoping to make a run at qualifying for the state relays this year.

2016-2017 record: 7-1; second place at regionals; fifth place at states.
Top returning wrestlers: Mason Eaglin, Sebastian Robles, Nathan Marin, Devin Gentz, Izaiah Davis, Deyondre Davis, Clayton Brooks, Davonn Keyes, Jacob Laws, Quinn Ogan, Logan Gleason, Ethan Fragoso.
Key newcomers: Xavier Eaglin, Dylon Murray, Logan Stafford, Logan McKinney.
Outlook: The Wolves had a successful season last year, finishing in fifth place at the state tournament and are looking to be even better this year.
Eaglin, Robles, Marin, Gentz, Izaiah, Deyondre Davis, Brooks and Keyes all participated or placed at state last year, giving South Kitsap a deep stable of wrestlers to accomplish that goal.
A key early matchup comes on Dec. 6 at home against Curtis.
