Bainbridge and North Kitsap’s track teams battled April 17, it and came down to the final few events for both the boys and girls.
The Spartan boys defeated the Vikings 76-74, while the girls won 77-68.
NK won eight boys events, while the winners won nine.
North Kitsap’s Cohen Meis won the 100 meters in 11.49 seconds with teammate Jackson Jacobsen second and Spartan Max Fitzgerald third.
In the 200 meters, Viking Logan Sloman won in 22.65 seconds, Meis was second and Spartan Rowan Meek third.
Viking Matthew Fee won the 400 meters in 51.83 seconds while Spartan Isaiah Beyer finished second and Jacobsen third.
In the 800, Bainbridge’s Bodie Strom won in 2 minutes, 8.81 seconds. Viking Mannix Bottoms finished second and Spartan Arlo Lisieski third.
Spartan Ignacio Llorens won the 1600 in 4:38.92, Fee finished second and Viking Quinny Stuart third.
Spartans Ben Crandall won the 3200 in 9:46.65, with teammates Ryann Dodge second and Zachary Shields third.
In the 110 hurdles, Viking Owen Wilkinson dominated in 15.32 seconds and Spartans Eli Brouwer and Tyler Dodge finished second and third.
Brouwer won the 300 hurdles in 45.81 seconds with Dodge second and Viking Theodore Stearns third.
NK’s Kyree McGinty, Wilkinson, Meis and Sloman won the 4×100 relay in 43.87 seconds. Bainbridge’s Meek, Fitzgerald, Cadence Bartell and Robert Cockburn finished second and Vikings Lucas Oliveros, Josiah Walker, Makoa Saffery and Lathan Becoats third.
BHS’s Brouwer, Kellen Diercks, Ian Sanders and Strom won the 4×400 relay in 3:53.70.
In the field events, in the shot put, Viking Jesus Mares threw 40 feet, 8.75 inches. Spartan Matthew Grant finished second and Viking Lincoln Gould third.
Grant won the discus with a throw of 125-7, Spartans Jack Grant finished second and Lucas Soboil third.
Spartan Brad LeVine won the javelin with a toss of 159-9, NK’s Gould finished second and Spartan Emile Le Dorze third.
In the high jump, Spartan Amare Clark won with a leap of 6 feet; Robert Dunn Smith finished second and Viking Kyle Oppliger third.
In the long jump, Viking Ethan White won at 19-6; Clark finished second and Viking Solomon Furne third.
Clark, the only double winner in individual events, took the triple jump with a mark of 41-4; White finished second and Viking Evan Williams third.
Lastly, Viking Alex Hitchings won the pole vault with a 10-foot mark; Kai Espiritu finished second and Spartan Slate Tan-Pando third.
Girls meet
Claire Hungerford led BHS winning three individual events, with Cate Torrell winning two.
In the 100 meters, the Spartans swept with Cate Torrell winning in 12.93, with Ella McRitchie second and Laine Romney third.
Torrell won the 200 event in 27.11, Viking Julie Castillejo finished second and Romney third.
In the 400, the Spartans again swept with Hungerford first in 1:01.34, Sabine Hartenstine second and De Lanoy third.
Spartan Cara Brundige won the 800 in 2:35.94, with teammate Elise Gonzales second and Viking Georgia Nelson third.
Viking Salix Wartes-Kahl won the 1600 in 5:26.20, with Spartans Mairin O’Brien second and Savai Esarey third.
In the 3200, Spartan Evelyn Shutske won in 12:01.52; Vikings Kathryn Mixer finished second and Miakoda McKeel third.
In the 100 hurdles, Hungerford won in 15.45 seconds with Hartenstine second and Viking Ingrid Aala finished third.
In the 300 hurdles, the Vikings swept with Ashley Peters first in 54.55, Callie Hinds second and Katelyn Bearden third.
Hungerford, Torrell, McRitchie and Maya Zick won the 4×100 relay in 52.50. NK has the next two spots with Hinds, Castillejo, Brook Sloman and Mikayla Burton second and Abigail Knott, Riley O’Connell, Elsie Nelson and Kaiya Collins third.
In the 4×200 relay, De Lanoy, Romney, Annika Miller and Quinn Kelly won in 1:54.79, while Vikings Syleena Hogan, Sloman, Kayla Skistimas and Castillejo finished second.
In the 4×400 relay, Hungerford, Hartenstine, Brundige and De Lanoy won in 4:15.84.
In the discus, Viking Corinne Aala won with 94-2, teammate Phoebe Aala finished second and Spartan Adelae Roa third.
In the shot put, Phoebe Aala won with 26-11.75, Corinne Aala finished second and Roa was third.
Racine Irvine won the javelin event with 74-4, McRitchie finished second and Spartan Miya Hansen third.
In the high jump, Hartenstine won with a 4-8, Skistimas finished second and Spartan Kya Eastman third.
Vikings swept the long jump with Ava Hurley first with 15-7, Arabelle Miller second and Bella Johnston third.
Burton won the triple jump with a 31-11, Miller finished second and Ingrid Aala third.
Lastly, Johnston won the pole vault with an 8-6, Miller finished second and Corinne Aala third.
