KMS racks up a win at the Key Arena
The Kingston Middle School girls basketball team defeated McMurray Middle School of Vashon Island on Friday afternoon by a score of 48-29 in a game played at the Key Arena. The Cavs were 6-0. Player of the game honors went to Amanda Carper, who had 6 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. On Monday the Cavs traveled to Bremerton to take on Mountain View Middle School and lost 36-35. Player of the game for Kingston was Erika Daniels, who scored 8 points and added 5 rebounds and 4 steals. The Cavs are now 6-1.

Panthers wrap up wrestling season
2008 Olympic League middle school wrestling tournament results: 78 Andrew Posten lost his first match, and won his second to finish second place overall.
90 Jacob Velarde won both matches by pin and took first place. He wrapped up an undefeated season. 95 Devin Merchant lost his first match and won his next two matches to finish in third place. 105 Nathan Foster wrestled in the finals and lost by decision 7-8 to take second place. 105 Matt Moriarty placed third. 110 Conner McCorkle wrestled in the finals and lost by decision to place second. 110 Joshua Buonvino finished in third place.
115 AJ Milyard won three matches and finished in first place. AJ wrapped up an undefeated season. 120 Shaun McBurney won two of three matches to place third. 125 Christian Liden won two of three matches to place third. 130 Jesse Stigile finished fifth. 137 John Murphy won two of three matches to place third. 145 Jordan Hadden won two of three matches and placed third. 210 Darien West lost in both of his matches. 275 Jacob Foster also lost both matches.
Panthers beat Woodward, go to 7-1
The Poulsbo Middle School basketball bumped its record to 7-1 with a 41-30 victory over Bainbridge Island’s Woodward Middle School on Monday afternoon.

Bucs soccer
beats Port Angeles
On Saturday the Buccaneers beat Port Angeles 2-0 in non-league game.
Freshman sweeper Juan Ramirez took a 30-yard direct free kick into the upper corner of the goal at the 30th minute for the Bucs first goal. Four minutes before the end of the game, John Troka low-volleyed a shot between the posts off a corner kick by team captain Chris Hall.
NK girls win
Port Angeles invite
The NK Girls Track team won the Port Angeles invite on March 14. Siara Byers took first in the 100 meter, 200, and anchored the winning 4×100 team; she also took second in the long jump. Christine Parker won the 100 hurdles and took second in the 300 hurdles. Michelle Lloyd won the javelin, also taking third in the shot-put and fifth in the discus. The NK girls also won the Kitsap County Classic on Saturday with 139 points. The NK boys finished fourth at the County Classic.
Bucs track does well at Kitsap Classic
The Kingston High girls track team placed third at the Kitsap County Classic last Saturday with 89 points, while and the boys placed seventh with 51 points. Kayal Campbell placed fourth in the 100-meter and 200 dashes in 13.38 and 27.71 seconds, respectively, and won the long jump with a distance of 16 feet, 4.5 inches. Ruby Roberts won the 800 dash and 3200 run with times of 2:27.40 and 11:31.70. The lady Bucs placed third in the 4×100 relay with a time of 1:01.39, second in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:58.60 and fourth in the 4×400 relay with a time of 4:38.50. Jaime Schultz placed second in the long jump with a distance of 15 feet, 10 inches. Claire Polson placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 31 feet, 3 inches. Anika Kramberger placed second in discus with a distance of 77 feet, 10 inches. Aaron Bilbao and Sam Shoemaker placed second and third, respectively, in pole vault with heights of 14 feet and 10 feet. Mike Ferrell won the long jump with a distance of 19 feet, 6 inches. Jack Clearman placed third in long jump with a distance of 39 feet, 5 inches. Alex Van Deen placed third in the shot put with a throw of 42 feet, 4 inches and third in the discus with a throw of 104 feet, 6 inches.

On Friday North Kitsap’s tennis team defeated Mount Tahoma 3-2.
No. 1 singles Britt Seaberg (NK) defeated Alysia Sin 6-3, 6-2. No. 2 singles Thu-Ha Trong (MT) defeated Stephanie Habner (NK) 6-1, 6-0. No. 1 doubles Megan Oost and Darlene Dang (NK) defeated Alyssa Higginson and Jaclynn Riley (MT) 6-3,6-4. No. 2 doubles Rose Bissonnette/Meghan O’hara (NK) defeated Andrea Granvold/Desirea Harper (MT) 1-6,6-2, 6-2. No. 3 doubles Julia Lay and Rachel Boison (MT) defeated Kerrie McGinty and Megan Stickney 6-3, 7-5.
