South Kitsap will send 17 swimmers and divers to league meets in both events this week.
Diving was held Thursday, while swim events begin at 3:30 p.m. today at Foss High School.
Zak Beerman, Cole Nelson, Joe Rose, Preston Soete and Kelvin Waterman advanced on the diving side. Aaron Abraham, Joe Beverage, Damien DeRego, Brandon Dravis, Michael Idle, Dane Johnson, Jens Johnson, David Kruse, Adam Loehmer, David McGinnis, Derek Peterson, Taylor Rousell, Justin Slezak and David Swinney all are swimming individual events.
WOLVES’ WOES CONTINUE
South Kitsap’s boys basketball team fell four games behind Gig Harbor for the final playoff spot in the Narrows League Bridge Division with just four contests remaining after a 53-49 loss Tuesday night at Shelton.
The Wolves (6-10 overall, 3-8 league) split the season series with the Highclimbers. It was the first Narrows win of the season for Shelton (2-14, 1-10).

Puget Sound Swim Club offers winter ‘Splash’ program
The Puget Sound Swim Club will be offering a second Winter Splash Session. Splash is a swim program that introduces young swimmers to competitive swimming. The cost is $55 per session plus a yearly USA registration fee of $61.00. The requirements to sign up are to have passed Level 4 or be able to swim the width (15 yards) of the pool with any stroke.
Each swimmer will be coached in all four strokes, butterfly, breast, back and free in addition to diving and flip turns. Registration is 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 18 for the next session.
