close perfect season

Coach Bill Brasch guided the South Kitsap Peewees “B” Grey to a 10-0 record with a 12-0 win against Chico on Nov. 8 in the ‚ÄòB’ Division County Championship at Joe Knowles Field.

Behind the blocking of an offensive line that featured Dalton Deisler and Tyler Ludlow, Terro Bell averaged 100 yards and two touchdowns per game. The offense averaged 33.5 points per game.

The defense, which surrendered just 4.3 points per contest, was led by Dshaun Booker and Marshaud Dewalt at linebacker, Zachary Ringer at nose guard and Joel Sherman at cornerback.

sign with schools

South Kitsap pitcher Collin Monagle and third baseman Brady Steiger announced before last baseball season began where they would play collegiately. In March, the right-handed Monagle announced that he selected the University of Washington over an offer from Oregon State. Steiger chose Washington State over Oregon.

The two made it official last week when they signed letters to play for the respective schools. The 6-foot-6 Monagle, who had shoulder surgery during the summer, mostly was limited to designated hitter last season. He hit .372 in 43 at-bats.

South coach Jim Fairweather said he plans to shift Steiger to shortstop in the spring to replace the graduated Tyler Sartor. Steiger finished with a .418 batting average and had a team-high .644 on-base percentage and five home runs.
