Olympic High baseball

The Olympic Summer Baseball Club will host open tryouts March 6 for boys, grades seven through nine, who plan to attend Olympic High School. The tryout is from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Zone Sports Complex, 21291 Urdahl Road Northwest, Poulsbo.

The team will compete in Junior “A” American Legion Baseball beginning in late May and running through July. The “A” team serves as a feeder program to the “AA” Olympic Senior American Legion Baseball team that draws from Olympic High School, and a developmental program for Olympic High School Baseball.

Pumas sign Hepple

The Kitsap Pumas agreed Tuesday to a two-year contract with Bahamian midfielder Cameron Hepple.

Hepple played for the Bradenton Academics of the Premier Development League last season, finishing with two goals and two assists. The 21-year-old Nassau, Bahamas, native was a two-time all-conference player at Bowling Green University, leading the team with 10 goals and 21 points in 2009.

“He’ll be a tremendous asset,” Owner Robin Waite said.
