Aban breaks another record as NK tops Kingston
North Kitsap sophomore Bethany Aban set a school record in the 100-yard backstroke Thursday, with a time of 1 minute, 4.77 seconds as the Vikings swam past the Buccaneers, 113-54.
Stephanie Longmate, class of 2009, held the previous girls 100-yard backstroke record, with a time of 1 minute, 5.28 seconds.
Both teams will compete at Olympic High Sept. 24.
Water Blossoms hold tryouts
The Kitsap Water Blossoms synchronized swim team will hold tryouts from 9-10:30 a.m. Sept. 19 and 26 at the North Kitsap Pool. Kingston 1, North Mason 0
Kingston’s Isabella Selvidge scored in the final 30 seconds of Thursday’s match to give the Buccaneers the win over North Mason High School. Two other teammates, Riley Brennan and Brooke Tschida, headed the ball on a Victoria Gerken cross before Selvidge knocked it in for the score.
Kingston plays at Sequim Tuesday, 6:45 p.m.
North Kitsap 2, Olympic High 2
The Vikings tied the Trojans Thursday, 2-2. North Kitsap plays its next game at Port Angeles Sept. 22 at 6:45 p.m.

Kingston falls to North Mason
The Buccaneers lost to North Mason High School in three sets Thursday, with scores of 28-26, 25-11, 25-11.
Cassidy Johnson and Andrea Johnson each had nine digs in the match.
