Verizon Golf Classic is June 24 at White Horse
The Verizon Golf Classic, a fundraiser for the Kingston Rotary Club, is June 24 at White Horse Golf Club.
Rotarians are visiting local businesses and encouraging them to “Swing for Rotary” by becoming a tournament sponsor. Early sponsors are Liberty Bay Bank, Kingston CPA, Kitsap Bank, The Filling Station, Kingston IGA Grocery, Anchor Chiropractic and the North Kitsap Herald. Verizon is the naming sponsor for the tournament, which is in its fifth year.
Several changes have been made to White Horse, an award-winning course designed by Cynthia Dye. The course is sunnier this year, with the removal of some trees and 62 bunkers have been removed to make the course a more enjoyable play.
Teams can register online at www.knkrotarygolf.com. The $120 fee per player will help fund Rotary’s community projects and scholarships. At the tournament, there will be a catered lunch provided by White Horse Golf Club and a special awards dinner prepared by Ruben Ojeda of Luna Bella Restaurant in Kingston.
