VOLLEYBALL

North Kitsap High beat Sequim in three sets Tuesday, 25-19, 25-14, 25-20.

Sarah Baugh led the Vikings with 16 kills, 11 assists and seven digs. Teammate Taylor Ottomano followed with nine kills. North takes on Central Kitsap at 6:15 p.m. today in Silverdale.

Kingston High fell to Olympic in three sets Tuesday. Katy Mitchell led the Buccaneer offense with five kills, and Andrea Johnson led on defense, with six digs.

SOCCER

North Kitsap 10, Sequim 0

The North Kitsap Vikings (4-2-1 overall) trounced Sequim Tuesday, scoring five goals in each half. Three Viking players — Siara Byers, Delanee Nilles and Jessica Sprague — each had two goals. A total of seven players scored in the game.

First half — 1, NK, Alyssa Wilder, 20th minute. 2, NK, Byers, 23rd minute. 3, NK, Lauryn Blevins (Nilles), 24th minute. 4, NK, Nilles, 32nd minute. 5, NK, Byers, 34th minute.

Olympic 1, Kingston 0

Kingston High (3-2-2 overall) fell to Olympic, 1-0, in a rainy match Tuesday.

“We need to continue working on passing and support,” Kingston Head Coach Craig Smith said. “It would be nice to knock off a couple of these 3A schools and stay in the hunt.”

Kingston hosts North Kitsap at 1:45 p.m. Oct. 3 and plays at Bainbridge Island Oct. 5. Both opponents are 3A schools.
