Kingston High athletes finish atop July Fourth 5K
Kingston High’s Marina Roberts took first in the Kingston Community 5K Fun Run July 4 with a time of 20 minutes, 42 seconds. She was followed closely by Ramona Morshead and sister Ruby Roberts, who both finished at 20:56. In the men’s division, Kingston’s Justin Doud finished first with a time of 17:06, followed by Brian Wardell at 18:14 and Kyle Ramsey at 18:22.
NK Explosion makes tourney semifinals
The North Kitsap Explosion 93 boys soccer team, coached by Darryl Wilder and Glenn Gracey, finished in the top four out of 12 teams in the Super Group at the U.S. Club National Collegiate Challenge tournament in Burlington July 4-7. The team held opponents scoreless until their semifinal match, which they lost 2-1 to Tynecastle FC.
Volleyball camps set for July
Kingston High School will hold two volleyball camps for youth and high school players at the KHS gym. The youth camp, for players entering grades four through eight, will take place July 21-22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The high school camp, for players entering grades nine through 12, will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 23-24. Register for basketball camp
Keyport Bible Church hosts a basketball camp for kids entering grades five through seven. The camp takes place from 5-8 p.m. July 13-17 at 15270 Washington Ave. NE, Keyport.
