Cedar Heights’ torrid start continues
The Cedar Heights girls basketball team is off to its best start in more than 20 years.
The Rain Devils defeated Curtis 38-21 on Tuesday.
Jiselle Woodson led all scorers with 15 points. Grace Glisson and Halie Rodriguez chipped in 8 points.
Cedar Heights has held its opponents to 21 points per game this year.
Cedar coach Josh Morton attributes the team’s success to its staunch 1-3-1 zone defense and toughness of all 12 players.
“This is a special group of young ladies,” Morton said. “I think we can advance the championship game if everyone continues to work hard. I’ve never had a group like this.”
