South Kitsap’s fastpitch team was eliminated from the Class 4A West Central/Southwest Bi-District Tournament with a 12-11 loss Sunday against Yelm at Kent Service Club Ballfields.
The Wolves (13-10) squandered an 11-2 lead during the game. South won its district opener, 5-4, against Kentridge to set up a winner-to-state contest against Camas. But the Wolves lost that game 4-1 to relegate themselves to a loser-out contest against the Tornados.
Wilkins eliminated from districts
South Kitsap senior Emily Wilkins lost a 6-1, 6-0, match against Olympia’s Sydney Pham in the girls singles consolation quarterfinals of the 4A West Central/Southwest Bi-District Tournament last week at Capitol City Tennis & Athletic Center in Tumwater.
Wilkins lost her first-round match against Kentridge’s Christine Ly, 6-4, 6-1.
