Concussion awareness
The Central Kitsap School District will host a free workshop, “Concussion: The Invisible Injury,” from 9 to 11 a.m. tomorrow at Ridgetop Junior High School.
Athletic directors, coaches, athletes and parents are invited to attend. The workshop will feature Dr. Stanley A. Herring, team physician for the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners and co-medical director of the new Seattle Sports Concussion Clinic.
Participants will learn when to seek medical care, why concussions can be unpredictable, when it is safe to return to play and how to avoid more serious complications. There also will be an opportunity to ask questions.
For additional information, contact John Cervinsky, CKSD athletic director, at (360) 662-1605.
