Hardball tryouts
NABA hardball, an 18- years-old-plus men’s baseball league, is hosting tryouts from noon to 3 p.m. April 18 at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds.
Day-of registration begins at 10 a.m. A non-refundable fee of $150 is due the day of the tryouts and an additional $130 is due within five days of the league draft. Tryouts were originally scheduled for April 4, but were cancelled and rescheduled. The rainout hotline is (360) 779-2124.
Roller derby
The Slaughter County Roller Vixens, a women’s flat track roller derby club, presents “The Battle at the Boneyard.”
Local team Death Rattle Rollers will face Seattle-based Grave Danger. The Kitsap Derby Brats and the Emerald City Junior Gems also will square off in junior-level competition.
Both bouts are April 25 at Skateland in Bremerton, 1740 NE Fuson Road.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.slaughtercountyrollervixens.com or at the door. Adult tickets are $10 (prepay), $12 (door) or $8 (military with ID). $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Children younger than 5 are free.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and action begins at 6 p.m.
Select basketball
Girls basketball players in grades six through eight are encouraged to attend an informational meeting and practice for Puget Sound Elite, a select girls basketball team coached by Yvonne Brittain, at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgetop Junior High.
