The Kitsap Rugby Football Union is continuing its Summer Sevens Rugby program for men and is attempting to reenergize the women’s team.
The teams will compete in a series of tournaments throughout the Northwest that will lead to the Northwest National Selection tournament at the end of the summer.
Kitsap will sponsor two summer teams to compete in the preliminary competition leading to the Washington Games.

Eathorne Golf Classic
The Les Eathorne Golf Classic, benefiting Sports Beyond and Total Package Basketball, will be held at 2 p.m. June 18 at Gold Mountain Golf Complex, 5572 Imperial Way SW, Port Orchard.
The four-person scramble will have a shotgun start. The 18-hole tournament will include a cart for players, specialty holes — including a $20,000 hole in one prize — and post-golf hor d’oeuvres, awards and a silent auction.
Cost: $95. For $25, non-golfers may attend the silent auction and hor d’oeuvres, beginning at 7 p.m. Auction items include rounds of golf, gift cards to restaurants, overnight stays, autographed baseballs, basketballs and more.

Eagles hoops camp
Klahowya Secondary School will host a boys summer basketball camp for players in grades four through eight July 26 to 30.
The sessions are from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Klahowya. The cost is $40 and payment is due by June 21. The camp will focus on all-around basketball skills — dribbling, passing, defense, shooting and more.

Diamond baseball
The Diamond Players Baseball Academy presents summer training camps for players ages 8 to 13 at the 19,000-square-foot Competitive Edge training center, 11706-A 24th Ave E., Tacoma.
Sessions begin June 28 and are held Monday through Thursday. Weekly sessions are available through Aug. 5. All aspects of the game are taught using a circuit training format and state-of-the-art training equipment. Daily sessions include skill competitions and games. Kitsap Soccer Club
The Kitsap Pumas lost for the first time this season Saturday, falling 3-0 to the first-place Portland Timbers U23 at Hare Stadium in Hillsboro, Ore.
Kitsap (5-1-0) visits the Abbotsford Mariners at 2 p.m. Sunday. The club hosts the Bay Area Ambassadors FC, of San Francisco, at 7 p.m. June 15 in the first round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Black and Orange wrestling
Central Kitsap High School in June will host a technique-based “Black and Orange Wrestling Camp” for athletes in grades seven through 12.
The camp is June 22-24, with sessions running from 9 to 11 a.m., 1 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m., and it is limited to the first 120 signups. All participants will receive a camp T-shirt. The cost is $100.
Coaches who have participants at the camp may attend for free. Meals will not be provided, so attendees are encouraged to bring lunch and water. A snack bar with sports drinks, energy bars and candy will be open.
Showers will be provided, but towels won’t.
The camp clinicians are four-time NCAA champion and United States Olympic coach Dan Russell, two-time All-American and Oregon State University assistant Kevin Roberts and four-time NCAA qualifier and Oregon State assistant Travis Pasco. There will be one clinician on-site each day.

Olympic High summer training
The Olympic High School athletic department is sponsoring a summer strength and conditioning program beginning June 21, to be instructed by physical education teacher and certified strength and conditioning specialist John Freeman.
Athletes will learn basic and complex movement skills, developing joint stability, balance and movement proficiency.
Sessions will be Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through Aug. 13.
Two sessions are available. Session 1 runs from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and Session 2 runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
