BlueJackets schedule

The Kitsap BlueJackets will resume a June 17 game with the Corvallis Knights that was suspended after 17 innings in a 1-1 tie. The resumed game, which begins at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, precedes Saturday’s regularly scheduled 7:05 p.m. contest, also against Corvallis. The Bremerton Foodline will be collecting food or cash donations and donors will be entered in a raffle for a 26-inch mountain bike, donated by Kitsap area McDonald’s restaurants.

American Legion baseball

The Olympic American Legion baseball team, coached by Olympic High School baseball coach and athletic director Nate Andrews, finished in second place in the North Division with a 10-5 record, behind North Kitsap (13-2).

Olympic faces Bonney Lake, which took second in the East Division, at 9 a.m. today at Capital High School in Olympia. The team would advance to the state tournament with a win today and an additional win tomorrow.

American Legion Baseball is a summer league designed to promote baseball interest in all young players, regardless of skill level and experience.

“It’s really a neat thing,” Andrews said. “This is for all youngsters in Kitsap who want to improve their baseball skills.”
