Central Kitsap boys and girls win big games over Olympic
The Battle of Bucklin Hill went the way of Central Kitsap in both the boys and girls games on Dec. 22. For the boys, Ja’Quirious Conley led the way with 15 points as the Cougars held down the Trojans with top-notch defense. Olympic has struggled to score at times this season against their top competition and Central Kitsap took full advantage, running up a big margin in the first half. Jaiden Mosley led Olympic with 11 points.
The girls team has sown tremendous improvement since day one this season, and they were rewarded with a 50-37 victory. The team has hung tough with Mt. Tahoma, North Thurston and Kingston this year, no easy feat. Led once again by senior point guard Vanessa Davies and her 17 points, and a quick and scrappy supporting cast that includes senior Olivia Krog and junior Erika Pilchard, the Cougars picked up their biggest win of the season to date.
