Poulsbo Middle School girls top Hawkins

The Poulsbo Middle School girls basketball team defeated Hawkins Middle School Wednesday, 56-14. Rebekah Baugh led the Panthers with 17 points. Teammate Hannah Snyder added 11 points.

Registration open for girls lacrosse

The North Kitsap Lacrosse girls’ high school team has extended its registration period through Feb. 20. The team is open to all girls in grades 9-12 who attend schools in the Bremerton, North Kitsap and South Kitsap school districts, as well as students in private schools. Registration is $175, which includes travel and field use fees. To register call Poulsbo Parks and Recreation at (360) 779-9898 or visit the office at 19540 Front Street in Poulsbo. A preseason clinic, free to those who are registered for the team, will be held from 3-5 p.m. Feb. 23-25 at Strawberry Field in Poulsbo.

Wrestling club begins practice

Northwest Washington Wrestling Club (NWWC) will begin Freestyle Wrestling Practice for youth of all ages at 7 p.m. Feb. 16 at Olympic High School in Silverdale. Registration forms are posted at www.NorthwestWashingtonWrestlingClub.com or available at any practice. Cost is $75 per wrestler.

Kingston’s Bagala named Dakota Athletic Conference scholar athlete

Kingston native Paul Bagala was named to the Dakota Athletic Conference’s list of fall sports scholar athletes this week. Bagala, a 2009 graduate of Kingston High School, plays football at Dakota State University. To earn a spot on the scholar athlete list, students must maintain a grade point average of 3.25 or higher for the semester.

NK Pool hosts swim camp

The North Kitsap Community Pool will host two swim camps on Feb. 15 and 16 for kids ages 5-11. Camps go from 7 a.m. to noon and noon to 5 p.m. each day. Cost is $50 for a full day and $30 for a half day. For more information or to register, call (360) 598-1070.

Train to become a lacrosse official

The Washington Women’s Lacrosse Umpire Association will conduct a training session from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 20 at The Zone Sportsplex in Poulsbo for anyone interested in becoming an official for high school girls lacrosse. Registration deadline is Feb. 18. Cost to attend is $50. Lacrosse officials earn $30-45 per game. Games are played Monday through Friday after 3 p.m. and on weekends. NK Soccer Club hosts spring academy

The North Kitsap Soccer Club will host a spring soccer academy from April 10 to May 15 for players in kindergarten through eighth grade. Players will be grouped according to age. The academy includes five training sessions, five Saturday “shuffle” events and a festival. Cost is $65 per player. Register at www.northkitsapsoccer.org.
