Kitsap Post 68 baseball goes two for three over the weekend

On Saturday the Post defeated the Columbia Basin River Dogs 7-4.

Andy Smith, Curtis Pitcher and Jamaal Smith manned the mound. From the plate: Andy Smith, a triple; James Smith, a double, Bradley Durham, a double and two RBI; Jamaal Smith, a double and a homer and two RBI; and Jordan Green one RBI.

On Sunday the Post played the Dogs in a double header. Game one went in favor of the Dogs 15-10 and the Post claimed game two 6-5.

Game one: Kelly Wells, Josh Horst, Robert Jordan, Jamaal Smith and Seth Green took care of business from the mound. From the plate: Andy Smith, a double and two RBI; James Smith two hits; Eli Olson, two hits and an RBI; Levi O’Hara-McLaren, one hit and an RBI; and Kyle Murray one RBI.

Game two: Jamaal Smith, Kyle Murray and Josh Horst threw. From the plate: Jordan Green, three doubles and an RBI; Eli Olson two hits and two RBI; James Smith, a double; Bradely Durham, a double, Kyle Murray three hits; Josh Horst, two hits, one double and an RBI; and Rico LeMay, drove in the winning run with an RBI.

The Post has a 9-1 record. The Post plays Sequim at 7 p.m. today at Legion Field in Bremerton.

Celebrities Hit the Links for Detlef Schrempf Foundation

The 15th annual Detlef Schrempf Celebrity Golf Classic takes place at the McCormick Woods Gold Course in Port Orchard, June 23. Shotgun start is at 10:30 a.m.

To date, the Detlef Schrempf Foundation has raised more than $8 million for Northwest children’s charities. This year’s golf proceeds will go to the Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation.

Scheduled to appear: Golfers from both the world of athletics and Hollywood are scheduled to appear; including Seahawks greats Dave Kreig and Robbie Tobeck, Brock Huard, Desmond Mason, Jim McIlvaine, Kevin Calabro, Jim Turner, Ryan Stiles, Mark Wright, Benji Olson, Todd MacCulloch, ESPN’s John Clayton, and the always entertaining Kato Kaelin.

From the tallest celebrity participant Jim McIlvaine at 7-foot, to the shortest, Gordon Clapp of NYPD Blue, to the longest drive, Billy Jo Hobert, and the most entertaining, Ryan Stiles of “the Drew Carey Show” and “Who’s Line Is It Anyway,” expect to see a full course of 36 foursomes, with personalities from throughout the Hollywood set, sports arena and the local talent pool.
