They’d rather be rowing

A year after debuting its new Stan Pocock Legacy Rowing Center in Waterfront Park, Bainbridge Island Rowing hosted its first US Rowing official regatta Sept. 28.

The Fall Invitational featured rowing at the junior and master levels. Juniors are for middle and high school ages, while masters is for post-collegiate rowers. The nonprofit’s membership age ranges from 14 to 84.

The center has room for 32 boats and equipment in its boathouse, indoor space for exercising and meeting space for BIR and community events.

Winners of the various races at the regatta were to receive trophies.
