Sportswriters and editors from the Associated Press have selected three Vikings for the 2A All-State teams. Two were first-team selections and a third was an Honorable Mention.
Making the 2A Super Six were senior guard Kobe McMillian and sophomore Jonas La Tour. They appear alongside a couple of players with whom they went head-to-head in the state tournament — Clarkston guard Tru Allen, and Selah junior Noah Pepper.
Senior forward Shaa Humphrey was named a 2A Honorable Mention.
This trio of Vikings were the team’s leading scorers throughout the regular season and postseason. La Tour led North Kitsap with 17.4 points per game and also averaged 6.3 rebounds per game. He also led all scorers in the state tournament at the Yakima SunDome in February.
McMillian, the Olympic League Most Valuable Player, averaged 17 points per game for the Vikings and Humphrey averaged 13.4. Humphrey was named the state tournament MVP by the attending media and scored some of the team’s biggest baskets during their state championship run.
On the girls side, Bainbridge senior Olivia Wikstrom was named a 3A Honorable Mention. Wikstrom averaged 26 points per game for the Spartans and broke the school’s career scoring record.
