Vikes undefeated with win over Knights | Girls basketball

The Bremerton Knights dropped to a 2-2 record after losing Dec. 16

BREMERTON — The Bremerton Knights dropped to a 2-2 record after the North Kitsap Vikings defeated them on their home court Dec. 16.

North Kitsap’s Kristin Brown led the team’s scoring with 20 points in the 68-52 victory.

The win was a balanced team effort, according to North Kitsap head coach Tim French.

“We did not rely on just one player, but focused on a group effort on offense and defense,” French wrote to the Herald.

Though the Vikings were unable to control the Knights’ top player, Sawyer Kluge, like they wanted to, they did get stops when it counted. The Vikings finished with good energy, according to French.

The Vikings (3-0) are second in the Olympic League; Port Angeles leads 4-0. The two teams meet Dec. 18 in the North Kitsap Gymnasium. JV tipoff is 5:15 p.m., Varsity at 7 p.m.
