POULSBO — The North Kitsap boys varsity basketball team did not take the Port Townsend Roughriders for granted Dec. 14, which coach Tony Chisholm credits for their 59-43 victory.

“They handled it,” Chisholm said. The Vikings had a “pre-game vision of what they were supposed to do and took care of business.”

North Kitsap’s Riley Lindsey lead the Vikings with 20 points. Kendal Gill and Carson Roberts each earned 10 in the night.

The Vikings led the Roughriders in all four quarters, which included outshooting them 16-7 in the second.

The Vikings are now 4-1 in the Olympic League and 4-3 overall. Port Townsend dropped to 2-5 in league and 2-5 overall.

The Vikings next play the Sequim Wolves Dec. 18 at home. Games begin at 3:30 p.m., Varsity starts at 7 p.m. Chisholm wants the Vikes to increase rebounds and lower turnovers as they prepare to face the Wolves (4-1, 4-2).

“They play hard,” Chisholm said.
