VOLLEYBALL | SK ousted from postseason in losses to Curtis, Olympia

South Kitsap was ousted from the postseason Nov. 6, losing 3-0 to Curtis and 3-2 to Olympia in the West Central District 4A District Volleyball Tournament, at Kentlake High School.

KENT — South Kitsap was ousted from the postseason Nov. 6, losing 3-0 to Curtis and 3-2 to Olympia in the West Central District 4A District Volleyball Tournament, at Kentlake High School.

The Wolves (5-9 league, 9-13 overall) ran into a buzz saw in Curtis, the second-ranked team in the state. Freshmen Anna Fall and Natalie Miller led SK with 4 kills each. Ellie Rill had 9 assists and Tia Lawrence had 11 digs.

The next round was against Olympia and the girls played their best effort of the season but came up just short, losing in five, 25-21, 25-21, 18-25, 16-25, 10-15.

Courtney Schmidt had 10 kills, Diane Olson 10 kills and 5 blocks. Fall added 8 kills and Miller 7. Rill had 26 assists and 18 digs, Emma York 5 aces, Lawrence 28 digs and Sarah Carlson 4 blocks.
