They are at it again. Vote “no” on Port of Poulsbo’s annexation. This is not about citizens’ participation; it’s taking more property rights and money from you.
Once again, the Port of Poulsbo commissioners are attempting to expand their tax base to include the greater surrounding Poulsbo area. Silently operating under the radar, the commissioners have published a touchy-feely “Argument for Port Expansion,” expressed in the voter guide under Ballot Measures — “Port of Poulsbo Proposition No. 1.”
I am writing to specifically thank the dozen or so members of the Poulsbo community who came out for the Port of Poulsbo’s Town Hall meeting at City Hall on a wet Friday night to discuss the port’s “enlargement initiative” on the November ballot. I, along with commissioners Rutledge and DeSalvo, fielded questions and explained our perspectives.
